Investment Analyst | Bangalore or Mumbai, India

EMVC, an early-stage global fund focused on breakthrough fintech and insurtech in India, is growing our team and looking for the right analyst to play a role in identifying and evaluating the fund’s future investments in early-stage companies. As part of the investment team, you’ll play an active role in developing evidence-based insights, writing high-impact business reports, as well as conducting research and analysis on the tech trends and startups shaping India’s future.

The Role

The analyst’s responsibilities would include the following: conduct market research and support commercial due diligence efforts as part of EMVC’s sourcing and pipeline processes; prepare financial models for a variety of applications (including KPI/metrics analysis and financial projections); support portfolio management activities (including review investor updates, prepare for board meetings, and share relevant industry developments); and provide general support of ad hoc internal operations (including note taking, database management, and communications).

Who We're Looking For

  • Enthusiasm about and familiarity with India’s startup landscape 

  • Experience in a startup, consulting, or investment with minimum 2 years of prior work experience

  • Some experience in financial models and market research

  • Exceptional qualitative & quantitative analytical skills

  • Good business writing and verbal communications

  • Strong proficiency with IT platforms including Google Suite and MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Able to work in a startup environment (e.g. small team, fast-paced, self-management)

  • Detail oriented, high integrity, and resourceful

Additional Qualifications (Not required, but welcome)

  • Familiarity with and interest in fintech and financial services

  • Programming skills

  • Track record of entrepreneurship and building new things
